Spirit of the Fear of the Lord is Repaying His Enemies With Calamity While Compensating His Faithful

During 2021, the Lord gave me the assignment to write about the seven spirits of the Lord. A friend, not knowing about this, sent me a video of a pastor sharing his vision about them. Now that it is 2022, it is time to write about the seventh one—the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. Let us start by reviewing the vision:

Pastor Chris Reed, of Crestwood Vineyard, had been teaching a series on the seven spirits of God. One day during worship, he was caught up in the spirit to heaven. He saw colors so beautiful in realms of glory.

An angel whose name was Fear of the Lord, dressed in white with eyes piercing like fire and a blue haze around him. motioned to him to “come.” He wanted him to see a wooden door and go into it. So, he walked through the door out of the glory he had been in.

He found himself in a library of books. He looked up at the heading of some books on the shelf and saw the words THE SUPERNATURAL. One book stood out to him, “The Seven Spirits of God.” He pulled it out. The front cover read The Spirit of the LORD.

The inside pages were very thick: page 1 was Spirit of Wisdom; page 2 Spirit of Understanding; page 3 Spirit of Counsel; page 4 Spirit of Might; page 5 Spirit of Knowledge. The back cover said Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. Chris then glanced up.

The angel told him to look back down and the back cover was ripped off the back binding. All five center, thick pages had fallen out of the book and were LOST.

The angel named Fear of the Lord told Chris, “What you have in your left hand is representative of what is left in the majority of the spirit-filled world [the front cover—The Spirit of the LORD.]”

In his right hand was the back cover—The fear of the LORD. “The rest of the seven spirits all leave when the fear of the LORD is taken away,” the angel said.

The middle five pages of the book entitled “The Seven Spirits of God” are still lost and will never return until the back cover, Spirit of the Fear of the Lord, brings them back. Specifically, where are we now and what has to happen before the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord returns. When will He restore the middle pages, and is it even possible?

What is the Fear of God?

The definition of Fear of the Lord can be summed up in one Scripture from the Amplified Bible. “Let all the earth fear the Lord [revere and worship Him]; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him” (Psalm 33:8).

Does this sound like our world today? Or, does it look more like this?

What is the Current state of the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord?

To review what the Bible says about it and what God’s answer is, let us start with 2 Timothy 3: 1-9:

Perilous Times and Perilous Men

“But know this, that in the last days ^[^a^]perilous times will come:

²For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

³unloving, ^[unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

⁴traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

⁵having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

⁶For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

⁷always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

⁸Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;

God’s Answer from Timothy:

⁹but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was” (NKJV).

Wisdom Warns – God’s Answer

^20-21Lady Wisdom goes out in the street and shouts.
At the town center she makes her speech.
In the middle of the traffic she takes her stand.
At the busiest corner she calls out:

^22-24“Simpletons! How long will you wallow in ignorance?
Cynics! How long will you feed your cynicism?
Idiots! How long will you refuse to learn?
About face! I can revise your life.
Look, I’m ready to pour out my spirit on you;
I’m ready to tell you all I know.
As it is, I’ve called, but you’ve turned a deaf ear;
I’ve reached out to you, but you’ve ignored me.

^25-28“Since you laugh at my counsel
and make a joke of my advice,
How can I take you seriously?
I’ll turn the tables and joke about your troubles!
What if the roof falls in,
and your whole life goes to pieces?
What if catastrophe strikes {like the whirlwind, NASB} and there’s nothing
to show for your life but rubble and ashes?
You’ll need me then. You’ll call for me, but don’t expect an answer.
No matter how hard you look, you won’t find me.

^29-33“Because you hated Knowledge
and had nothing to do with the Fear-of-God,
Because you wouldn’t take my advice
and brushed aside all my offers to train you,
Well, you’ve made your bed—now lie in it;
you wanted your own way—now, how do you like it?
Don’t you see what happens, you simpletons, you idiots?
Carelessness kills; complacency is murder.
First pay attention to me, and then relax.
Now you can take it easy—you’re in good hands [without fear of evil NKJV] (Prov. 1:20-33 The Message).”

What Does a Person Look Like Who is Walking in the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord?

“About face! I can revise your life. Look, I’m ready to pour out my spirit on you; I’m ready to tell you all I know,” says the Lord. This is how your life can look:

Faithful and Obedient: 2 Chron. 19:9
Clean Living: Ps. 19:9
Endure forever Ps. 19:19
Filled with understanding with obedience: Ps. 111:10
Have Common Sense: Prov. 1 and 2
Understand the fear of the Lord and find knowledge of God. Prov. 1:7, Prov. 2:5
Fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom: 9:10
Days are prolonged: Prov. 10:27
Have strong confidence: Prov. 14:26
Filled with fountain of Life: Prov. 14:27
Contented with little: Prov. 15:16
Not visited with evil and satisfied: Prov. 19:23
To depart from evil is wisdom: Job 28:28 and Prov. 16:6
Rich, honored and full of life: Prov. 22.4
Never envies sinners Prov. 23:17
Protected; an angel encamps around those who fear the Lord: Ps. 34:7
Loved and pitied by the Lord: Ps. 103:13

How Does the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord come upon a people or nation?

Chapter 11 of Isaiah, verses one and two, are where the seven spirits of God are spelled out. This has been the Scriptural rock for the previous six articles about them. Verse one explains that Jesus is the Branch out of the root of King David’s father Jesse’s line. The chapter continues to explain more about how the fear of the Lord comes upon people.

“And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him [Jesus]—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord—
And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither by the hearing of His ears.
But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips. He shall slay the wicked.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist and faithfulness the girdle of His loins (Amplified).

Jesus was obedient to death as He delighted in the reverential fear, awe and worship of His Father until His last breath on Earth. He earned His right to be the judge of the earth.

Isaiah, Chapter 59, shows more specifically what must happen for the reverence of God to come upon a people and nation on Earth.

God saw that there was no man to intercede for the nation, so He brought His own arm to bring salvation and righteousness for Himself. He brough His Son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, who is continually interceding for us right now. In many times past for Israel and for all nations, He is still rewarding:

“According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,

Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies;

The coastlands He will fully repay,

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west,

And His glory from the rising of the sun;

When the enemy comes in like a flood,

The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:18-19 NKJV).

Fury to His adversaries and recompense to His enemies. Recompense means compensation for damages incurred, to fully repay. Likewise, it means to return in kind for all deeds done, [good or bad]. Only then will they fear the name of the LORD!

Examples of When the Fear of God Came Upon People in The Bible

RAHAB: Before God was able to bring the Israelites out of Egypt’s bondage, He had to resort to allowing the death angel to repay Pharaoh for killing all the first-born baby boys of the Jewish people. Moses escaped this fate, was nursed by his own mother who was paid to do so by Pharaoh’s own daughter. Only God.

After Pharaoh’s own first-born son died at the tenth plague God sent upon the land, he let the Israelites go to serve their God. The people in the land where they were going many miles away heard about this, and they feared the Israelites because of their God’s deliverance.

Rahab was one of those people. She lived on the wall of Jericho where the spies went first––in order to spy out the promised land. Because she hid the spies and feared their God, she was saved, and all her household; then the whole army took Jericho.

She had said,” the terror of you has fallen on us.”

A MIXED MULTITUDE: The fear of the Israelites’ God fell on many Egyptians who chose to leave Egypt with the Jewish people who had been in bondage (Exodus 12:38); however, with no foundation in knowing who God was, nor who they were in Him, they complained about everything and about Moses, their anointed leader. They brought much trouble in the camp.

ANANIAS AND SAPPHIRA HIS WIFE: The early followers of Jesus, after His resurrection, shared with each other. Barnabas sold some property and laid the money at the apostles’ feet. Ananias and his wife sold a possession and kept back part of the proceeds, both agreeing to tell the apostles they were giving the whole amount.

Peter immediately saw the dishonesty and said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit . . . was it not in your own control? You have not lied to men but to God.”

Upon hearing these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last breath. His wife arrived later and agreed to the amount they sold the possession for. She also fell down dead.

“So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things” (Acts 5:11).

SAUL’s CONVERSION: A Pharisee named Saul persecuted the early Christians with threats and murder. Jesus Himself met him on the road to Damascus where Saul was going to bring many following The Way bound to Jerusalem. Jesus blinded Saul as He said, “Why do you persecute ME?” Saul was blind for three days and nights before God sent a believer to pray for him to receive his sight.

Jesus called Saul to reach non-Jewish people, kings and the children of Israel. He wrote most of the New Testament—through much suffering of his own. His name was changed to Paul, and after he was accepted by the church, the people had peace, “And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied” (Acts 9:31).

When will the Fear of the Lord Return?

On the very first day of Jesus’ public ministry, He went into the synagogue and read from the Prophet Isaiah, chapter 61, verses one and part of number two. Isaiah announces that His ministry would two-fold. First, to open the door of grace to the world. He would preach the gospel and bring healing, recovery of sight to the blind, liberty to the captives and BE the Jubilee (when all things are restored).

The second mission, Jesus did not address that day. He stopped short of Isaiah’s prophecy and sat down. (See Luke 4).

His second mission addresses the end of time at His second coming. “. . .and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn” (Isaiah 61:2). Vengeance on sin, darkness, sickness, and eventually the ‘goat’ nations.[i]

At the End of the Age

Jesus told His disciples that at the end of time, He would “gather the good fish into vessels, but throw the bad away.”

“At the end of the age, the angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 13:48-50).

In the same chapter of the Bible, He told His disciples He would let the tares (looks like wheat but is not wheat) planted by the enemy remain with the good wheat until the end. He said, “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn’” (Matthew 13:30).

Regarding the tares and wheat Jesus said, “The harvest is the end of the age and the reapers are the angels. Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.

“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness

“and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 13:39-43).

Today, we see this happening. Angels are dividing the counterfeit wheat from the true wheat as well as the sheep nations that serve God from those who do not––the goat nations.

At the Harvest – the Latter Rain

In other words, we are seeing the harvest in full swing. Just as Jesus said, He will divide them up and bring fury to His adversaries and recompense to His enemies.

What we are about to see is a supernatural harvest of unparalleled proportions––times seven! The prophet Joel, Chapter 2, speaks of two outpourings of rain of the Holy Spirit. The former rain and the latter rain.

The former rain, or ‘moreh’ was in the autumn

The latter rain, or ‘malkosh’ is in the spring, or harvest time at the end of the age.[ii] “The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil” (vs. 24).

The former rain happened at the day of Pentecostal fire––50 days after Jesus resurrected from death.

The latter rain is happening right now, and will intensify.

“I will restore to you the years the locust has eaten . . . You shall have plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dwelt wondrously with you; and My people will never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I AM in the midst of Israel; I AM the LORD your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame” (vs. 25-27).

At The Back of the Book

In Revelation, the last book of the Bible, Chapter 5, we see the Lamb of God, Jesus crucified, upon the throne. My first post about the seven spirits pictured this scene in detail–with links to the center five spirits: What Are the Seven Holy Spirits of God Key to Supernatural Life of a Christian.

But there’s more.

We must look at this again. The Lamb has seven eyes which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth (vs. 6). And His eyes like a flame of fire (Rev. 1:14).

This is a worldwide outpouring of Supernatural Holy Spirit Fire––the latter rain––a Kingdom Revival, a GREAT Awakening –the harvest of souls we have been praying for. The answers from the golden bowls of the prayers of the saints from all time are being poured out right now (vs. 8).

Verse 7 says, “Then He came and took the scroll . . . “and began opening the seven seals that begin the tribulation period, but not before the harvest and all the good fish are separated from the bad into vessels, and good wheat gathered into His barn.

Is It Possible for the Center Wisdom Pages to Be Restored by the Fear of the Lord?

The answer to this question has to be yes! If Jesus is pouring out ALL the seven spirits of God into all the earth, then they WILL BE poured out and all five, center Wisdom pages restored. But it is a SUPERNATURAL event, just as the heading over the book that the Fear of the Lord angel showed Chris Reed. Anything God does is supernatural.

A vision of Jesus and the Harvest Angels

Pastor Mike Thompson, of Word Of Life World Outreach, was taken up into a vision when he was worshiping. He saw himself standing behind Jesus and Michael the archangel. He overheard Michael say to Jesus, “The angels and I are ready.”

Jesus looked down at Earth and said, “There has never been more people on Earth who hate me as there are right now.”

He paused and said, “There has never been more people on Earth who love me as there are right now. We will take the people who love me and go after those who hate me.”

Every dream or vision we hear should be taken to the Bible to see if it is Scriptural. You decide. Psalm 102:19-20 NASB says:

“For He looked down from His holy height;

From heaven the LORD gazed upon the earth,

To hear the groaning of the prisoner;

To set free those who were doomed to death,

That men may tell of the name of the LORD . . . and His praise . . . .”

Men and angels going after those who hate Jesus IS the harvest.

The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord Can Be Taught and Learned

“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”Ps. 34:11

We cannot afford to be like the ‘mixed multitude’ in the wilderness who complained against God and who all eventually died in the wilderness from a plague (Numbers 11: 4,33-34). Neither did they receive 5 ETERNAL CROWN REWARDS.

They had no foundation although they were out of bondage, and they did not listen to Moses or try to learn more. Their lives were built on sand and not on the Rock of Jesus’ WORD. When hardship and the storms came, their spirit crumbled and they died. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken (Haggai 2), but not for those on the ROCK.

There is no more time to be careless and complacent. We all will have to give account of our lives to Jesus––for every word said and deed done.

Our women’s group learned that studying the names of God taught us the Fear of the Lord. One meeting, as we were discussing His name with open Bibles, we came upon a Scripture, Malachi 3: 16:

“Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another,

And the LORD listened and heard them,

So, a book of remembrance was written before Him,

For those who fear the LORD, and who meditate on His name.”

How the Spirit of Understanding Reveals Profound Unfulfilled Prophecies Related to the Fall Feasts of the Lord

Did you know God gave us a blueprint of His prophetic calendar of redemption for mankind––from the ending to the beginning? It is all mysteriously hidden in the seven feasts of the Lord laid out for the Jewish people at their beginning. We can know our future in detail when we search for these hidden treasures by looking at our biblical past. The first four feasts have been fulfilled, so we will look more closely at the fall feasts of the Lord yet to be fulfilled.

This sixth article about the Spirit of Understanding is in the series, 7 Spirits of the Lord. The Lamb of God on the throne is pouring out His Spirit on mankind around the world today (Rev. 5: 6).

“The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him (Jesus) The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:2).

“Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people who know the joyful sound [who UNDERSTAND and appreciate the spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts]; they walk, O Lord, in the light and favor of Your countenance! “In Your name they rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they are exalted” (Psalm 89:15-16 Amplified).

The Spirit of Understanding spoke to Zechariah about these last days when he said, “In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you” (Zechariah 8:23 NKJV).

Research for this article comes from five wise Jewish rabbis who agree on their knowledge and understanding of the feasts.

What are the Feasts of the Lord?

Leviticus 23 lays out in detail the seven feasts of the Lord. He says, “You shall proclaim these to be holy convocations, these are MY FEASTS!” Furthermore, He says they are to be a statute FOREVER throughout your generations.

These seven feasts are divinely ordained appointments WITH God, “appointed times” (móed) when God meets with His people, a holiday when God shows up! Why would He not show up for His own appointed feast holidays? And why should we not care about them AND JOIN HIM?

The Psalm 89 Scripture above tells us we are blessed, favored and filled with God’s light in His presence when we understand and appreciate the feasts of the Lord. So, grab a cup of hot tea of coffee and give this very important information fifteen minutes of your time. Stay to the end for an recent ancient discovery that will astound you!

How are the Seven Feasts Divided?

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn explains the big picture well: “The sacred Hebrew year has two cycles or clusters of holy days, the spring cycle and the autumn cycle. And in each cycle, the holidays are joined together not only in their timing but in their themes.

“The theme of the spring cycle is the beginning, salvation, freedom, rebirth, new life, Passover and the Lamb.

“The autumn theme is about the ending and closing up of that which began in the spring.

“If the spring cycle speaks of the beginning and Messiah’s first coming, then the autumn cycle would speak of His second coming…and the end. The END OF HARVEST, the RETURN, the sounding of the TRUMPETS, the REGATHERING, the REPENTANCE, man and God FACE-TO-FACE, the JUDGMENT, the REDEMPTION the KINGDOM OF GOD, and all things returning to Him…THE CLOSING.”[i]

What are the Three Spring Feasts of Israel?

The major Festivals (or feasts) in the Jewish New Year are when, in ancient times, the people were required to make pilgrimage to the temple in Jerusalem. Following is a summary of the spring feasts, plus Pentecost 50 days later – all fulfilled at Jesus’ first coming. All the feasts reveal JESUS!

SPRING FEASTS – FIRST COMING OF THE LAMB OF GOD (JESUS/YESHUA)

PASSOVER (three feasts in one) 14, 15, 16 of Nisan (Mar – Apr)

DEATH – Passover Day recalls when the death angel passed over because of the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of Israelites in Egypt at Exodus. 14 Nisan
BURIAL – Feast of Unleavened Bread – to commemorate the bread the Israelites took with them at the Exodus. 15 Nisan
RESURRECTION – Feast of Firstfruits – Jesus conquered death and arose from the grave on this third day of Passover. He is the first from death and hell; believers in Him are next who will also be resurrected. 16 Nisan

PLUS the Feast of PENTECOST – 50 days after FirstFruits of Passover – Jesus sent Holy Spirit to take His place on planet Earth after His Resurrection for all who will receive. 6-7 Sivan (May-June)

Notice how the dates are EXACT dates in the month of Nisan (Mar – Apr), three days in a row, that coincided with Jesus DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION!

What are the Fall Feasts of the Lord?

FALL FEASTS – SECOND COMING OF LION KING JESUS OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH – (Sept-Oct)

Here is a summary of the three fall feasts of the Lord that will be fulfilled at Jesus’ second coming: at the rapture and after the tribulation extending into the messianic millennial period. Next we will look at each more closely:

RAPTURE – Feast of TRUMPETS (Rosh HaShanah) The Jewish New Year, 1 Tishrei

The growing season is over and the HARVEST is in the barn. The previous month is the most important month in their year. It is spent in fasting, prayer and repentance to be prepared for Rosh HaShanah.

WEDDING DAY – Feast of YOM KIPPUR (Day of Atonement – At-one-ment) 10 Tishrei Considered the most solemn and important day in the biblical calendar. Sin was merely covered by blood of bulls and goats. The blood of Jesus Christ makes us at one with Him today. for He washed away sin forever, sending it as far as the east is from the west.
MARRIAGE CELEBRATION & REST – Feast of TABERNACLES (Sukkot) 15-21 Tishrei

This seven days typifies the Messianic Kingdom when God’s people will have His rest and shalom/peace, a unique period that transcends nature for 1,000 years after the tribulation. Eternity will follow when heavens’ New Jerusalem comes to the new Earth––the Lamb’s wife (Revelation 21: 2, 9).

What is the Mysterious Feast of Trumpets at Rosh HaShanah? Leviticus 23: 24, 25

“Rosh HasHanah is scripturally known as Yom Teruah, which means ‘Day of Blowing,’ says Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries. “This is the only feast day when the shofar is blown one-hundred times during the service. The one hundredth blast is set apart and is known as the ‘Last Trump.’

“Idioms for Rosh HasHanah include The Time of Jacob’s Trouble, The Day of the Awakening Blast, the Day of Judgment, the Opening of the Books/Gates, The Hidden Day, the Wedding of the Messiah, and the Coronation of the Messiah.

“It is customary to eat apples dipped in honey to symbolize a wish for a good and sweet new year. It is also common to eat round challah (bread) to symbolize a crown that coronates God as King of the world.”[ii]

The late Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein agrees and adds more, “The quintessential symbol of Rosh Hashanah is the shofar, a curved ram’s horn that was used during biblical times to, among other purposes, signal when to break camp, call to arms, and usher in feast days and the Sabbath. During Rosh Hashanah, the shofar is sounded one hundred times on each of the two days . . . . The most important mitzvah (deed) to be obeyed during Rosh Hashanah is to:

HEAR THE SOUNDING of the shofar.” [iii]

Eckstein gives the best thorough explanations of how and why the shofar/trumpet is used in the fall feasts of the Lord. [iv]

Symbol of Revelation. The shofar relates to Mount Sinai. “On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled .. . and as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him” (Exodus 19:16,19). The shofar is a reminder to live according to the Word of God.”
Symbol of a Coronation. The sounding of the shofar is a reaffirmation of God’s sovereignty and kingship over us. In the words of Psalms, “with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn – shout for the joy before the LORD, the King” (Psalm 98:6).
- Sid Roth with It’s Supernatural Ministries says, “The blowing of the trumpet signaled the calling of a sabbath or solemn assembly; a warning of danger, and action to be taken (such as a gathering of the troops to war); or an ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ARRIVAL OF A KING.[v]
Symbol of Akedah (binding of Isaac). The story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 22, and Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his only son, is read on Rosh Hahanah. The ram, whose horn was caught in the bushes, was sacrificed in place of Isaac. The ram’s horn became an eternal symbol of Abraham’s and Isaac’s trust in God, even in the face of death.
Symbol of Humankind’s Need for Repentance. Just as the shofar was used during biblical times as a call for the people to assemble or as a warning of impending danger, the shofar is sounded on Rosh Hashanah as a wake-up call. It is a clarion call for moral introspection. “Awake, O you sleepers, awake from your sleep! Search your deeds and turn in repentance.”
Symbol of the Messianic Era. Finally, the shofar is sounded as a reminder of God’s promise to bring the Messiah who will usher into the world an era of physical and spiritual peace. Isaiah wrote, “And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem” (Isaiah 27:13).

YOM KIPPUR

Biltz says on his 2021-2022 Jewish Calendar, regarding the fall feasts of the Lord, “Yom Kippur means ‘Day of Atonement.’ It is the last chance to change the judgment that will come when the books are closed, demonstrate repentance, and make amends with God.

“Yom Kippur was the only day the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies. Yom Kippur is a fast day beginning at sunset on the evening before and ending after sunset on the day of Yom Kippur. It is customary to wear white on Yom Kippur to symbolize purity and cleanness from sin.”[vi]

In Old Testament times, the Day of Atonement was a time of offering a burnt animal sacrifice for sins that covered them for the next year. Since the temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70, Jewish people merely go the synagogue, fast, and pray, and make reconciliation with friends.

Unless they know who their Jewish Messiah/Jesus truly is, they don’t know their sins are eternally paid for – not merely covered – because Jesus “entered once for all into the Holy Place, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12 NRSV).

SUKKOT – THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES – Leviticus 23: 29-42

Sukkot, also known as Feast of Tabernacles, is known as “the time of our happiness.”

“The LORD said to Moses, ‘say to the Israelites, “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD’S Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days’” (Leviticus 23:33-34).

Specifically, during this week, Rabbi Jonathan Bernis, of Jewish Voice Ministries, tells us, “They are to recall how God supplied them with food, water, shelter and guidance [in the wilderness]. Jewish families re to live in small, temporary dwellings made of branches. At night they are to look up at the stars and remember God’s promise to Abraham that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the heavens.

“This feast also commemorates the LAST HARVEST of the year and looks forward to the day when the elect from all over the world will be gathered into the kingdom of God” ( see Matthew 24:31).[vii]

Temporary dwellings (here on earth)

Cahn states, “By building a sukkah made of branches, wood, palm leaves, fruit, etc.; they camp out in their homeland, living in the Promised Land as if they were still living in the wilderness.

“In the Feast of Tabernacles, the two realms, the Promised Land and the wilderness come together. And that bears witness of a mystery; the realm of heaven and the realm of earth are joined. . . . . We are to learn to live in the heavenly realm while living on earth (Ephesians 2:6).[viii]

Leviticus 23:42-43 says, “Live in temporary shelters for seven days: all native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”

It reminds us that our homes are temporary dwellings and our permanent home with God awaits us.

A Time for Hospitality

A beautiful tradition associated with Sukkot is ushpizin, inviting guests into the sukkah to partake in the celebration. Jews are commanded to do this, especially to those in need.

Eckstein explains, “Sukkot is a time of universal blessings. It’s considered the ONE festival that ALL people will be expected to observe in the messianic era [the millennial reign here on earth after the tribulation).

“We read ‘Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles’ (Zechariah 14:16). For this reason, Jews pray on Sukkot, not only for their own welfare, but for the entire world.”[ix]

WE MUST CATCH THIS. The Feast of Tabernacles is a time for ALL people, not just the Jewish people. We will celebrate the festival year after year as we do for any marriage anniversary.

Any family that does not come to the anniversary celebration, on them there will be no rain. “The family of Egypt” is mentioned by name; if they don’t come, they will have no rain.

My husband and I celebrated our 50^th wedding anniversary in Israel in October of 2019. We were there at the Feast of Tabernacles. For the first time, Egypt was there! Since 2008, people from all over the world have been going to Jerusalem for the celebration and Parade of Nations through the streets. Who was in the parade? All 8,000 of us there who support Israel, with banners and flags as Israelis shouted for joy on the sidelines. It was all broadcast on national television.

LOVE FEASTS of the Lord

The feasts of the Lord are LOVE FEASTS. They are times chosen by the Lord to visit His bride. They are times He has chosen to make a banquet feast for her to express his love to her.

Do you remember when you dated your fiancé and planned a special meal for her/him? You had come to the time you wanted to present that engagement ring and ask her to marry you. You put out the best plates, silver, and gold candles. This is exactly how we are to enter the feasts of the Lord.

We examine our hearts to check our love for Him, repent of any wrong motives or thoughts.
We put on our best clothes only after making sure our inside attitudes are right.
We KNOW there is nothing that comes between us––no other loves or idols more important. He alone is our first love. He’s all they think about.
You know you are READY to see Him face to face. There is no thought of “only after such and such happens, then I will be ready.” Because . . . you are ready NOW!

UNDERSTAND How the Spring and Fall Feasts of the Lord are Joined Together

The book of Proverbs tells us that in all our getting to get an understanding. Consider these comparisons:

DEATH – Spring Feast of Passover Day – At Jesus’ death the veil of the temple as torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51.

WEDDING DAY – Fall Feast of YOM KIPPUR – Believers are made ‘one’ by Jesus’ blood in the atonement with direct access to Him. The veil is pulled back.

RESURRECTION – Spring Feast of Firstfruits – Jesus is the first resurrected from the dead

RAPTURE – Fall Feast of TRUMPETS is the Rapture for the Church of Jesus Christ

The Bible does say no one knows the day or hour Jesus will come, only the Father, but we can know the season. And with there being so many different calendars used around the world based on lunar and solar years, or both – none of them agree to the day, hour and minute.

UNDERSTAND that the Fall Feasts of the Lord Point to an Ancient Galilean Wedding

In case you missed it, the film, “Before the Wrath,” * reveals a profound discovery from the time of Christ how the Galilean wedding transpired. It explains that Jesus’ disciples were all from Galilee where he also lived.

Before leaving earth, Jesus’ said to them, “In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:2-3 Amplified).

In Jesus’ own words, we see Him coming for His bride.

The disciples understood Jesus to mean a wedding would take place.

Sequences of the Wedding:

The betrothal – takes place at the main gate so everyone in the village can witness it (Ruth 4:1). A written proposal covenant is offered that the bride will sign––between both families. Dowry is paid as an insurance policy in case something happens to the groom, for they are considered married at this point.
Groom pours wine in a cup and gives it to the virgin bride. He passes it to her. She has the choice to accept it or reject it. She could push it back. SHE is the final authority. Matt. 26:27.
If the bride accepts, groom says publicly, “I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until I drink it with you in my father’s house.” (I’ve given my body for you.) Matt. 26:29.
Groom leaves His bride to prepare a room he will build onto his father’s house for them. John 14:2.
Bride leaves to prepare herself with a white dress and will keep herself pure for the next year and will be ready with oil in her lamp. Matt. 25.
When the room is ready, the groom says to his father, “I am ready for my bride.”
Only the father can say when the right time is, because he has to be prepared to feed the wedding party for a whole seven days at the wedding celebration. Matt. 24.36.
The father will say at midnight of one night to his son, “It’s time.”
The son grabs his shofar and he and his groomsmen walk down the street to the bride’s house. Among lit lamps, trumpets are blaring to wake up the townspeople and the bride and her bridesmaids and family who are also ready and watching for the wedding.
All the people meet in the street facing each other. After the bride looks into her grooms’ eyes after a long separation, she lowers herself onto a litter and is lifted into the air. She is carried to the father’s house with her groom walking beside her. 1 Cor. 13:12, 1 Thess. 4:14-18.
THE DOOR IS SHUT! No one leaves for 7 days and 7 nights. [Compares to 7 years of the tribulation. For examples of 7 Years for 1 day, see: 14:33-34; Eze. 4:4-6; Eze. 20:8-11; 23:10-11.] Matt. 25:10.
Those left behind would be subjected to the wrath and indignation to come. Matt. 3:7, Rom 1:18, Rev. 6:16; 12:12; 14:8; 15:1; 16:19.

Have you accepted your written proposal from Jesus Christ?

An Angel Came to Me Through Someone Else’s Encounter

The seven holy spirits of God in the Bible represent a mystery rarely discussed but hold the secret to supernatural power in the Christian’s life. Believe me, when we take time to delve into these mysteries––even as we are reading about them––the Spirit of the Lord will manifest Himself in our lives in amazing ways.

When I knew God was giving me this subject as my next writing assignment, I felt helpless and spent months contemplating it. I had never heard a teaching on the seven spirits of God, but as I kept seeing the terminology in the book of Revelation, I wondered what it meant.

After meditating on Isaiah 11:2, the only place where they are listed, all I could determine was that there were six of them, so the “seven spirits of God” did not make sense to me.

That’s when an angel came to me through the story of another person who had an actual encounter with an angel.

An Angel Came to Chris Reed with a Word for This Hour

My friend Christine forwarded a video to me of Pastor Chris Reed’s story. He had been teaching a series on the seven spirits of God––the seven parts of His nature. One day during worship, he was caught up in the spirit to heaven. He saw colors so beautiful in realms of glory.

An angel whose name was Fear of the Lord, in white with eyes piercing like fire and a blue haze around him. motioned to him to “come.” He wanted him to see a wooden door and go into it. So, he walked through the door out of the glory he had been in.

He found himself in a library of books. He looked up at the heading of some books on the shelf and saw the words “The Supernatural.” One book stood out to him, “The Seven Spirits of God.” He pulled it out. The front cover read The Spirit of the LORD.

The inside pages were very thick: page 1 was Spirit of wisdom; page 2 Spirit of understanding; page 3 Spirit of counsel; page 4 Spirit of might; page 5 Spirit of knowledge. The back cover said Spirit of the fear of the Lord. Chris then glanced up.

The angel told him to look back down and the back cover was ripped off the back binding. All five thick pages had fallen out of the book and were LOST.

Fear of the Lord angel told Chris, “What you have in your left hand is representative of what is left in the majority of the spirit-filled world [the front cover—The Spirit of the LORD.]”

In his right hand was the back cover—The fear of the LORD. “The rest of the seven spirits all leave when the fear (awe and reverence) of the LORD is taken away,” the angel said.

The supernatural, revelation knowledge, might, and power in the church cannot exist without the fear of the LORD. It must be restored before we can see the glory and presence of the Lord cover the earth.

What is the meaning of the seven holy spirits of God in the Bible?

This seven-fold mystery of the seven spirits of God is mentioned only in Isaiah 11:2 in the Old Testament. It is followed up in the book of Revelation. We will thoroughly look at the title page of the book: The Spirit of the LORD, which envelops the whole of the remaining six spirits.

You will go away feeling like you have been in the throne room with God and an understanding of all the symbols there. Jesus will come alive to you as never before as you are filled with the seven-fold Spirit of the LORD.

Isaiah 11:1 speaks of a Branch that will grow from the roots of Jesse, or David his son. Verse 2 says the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—Jesus Christ.

What are the seven holy spirits of the LORD of Isaiah 11:2?

1. The SPIRIT OF THE LORD shall rest upon Him [Jesus]

2. The SPIRIT OF WISDOM [ also known as 7 PILLARS OF WISDOM

3. and UNDERSTANDING

4. The Spirit of COUNSEL

5. and MIGHT

6. The SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE

7. and of the SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

All seven are connected to each other.

It’s interesting to note that all these are intertwined and cannot exist on their own. The Word of God says that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; also, that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; with all our getting of knowledge we should get an understanding; our counselor is the Holy Spirit––the Spirit of the Lord; and we can do nothing by our own might or power, but only by the Spirit of the LORD.

Lastly, but not least, Isaiah 11, verse 3 says, “His (Jesus) delight is in the fear of the LORD.” The rest of this chapter and many others, including Isaiah 59, show how the fear of the LORD comes through righteousness and faithfulness. “The Fear of the Lord” will soon have its own article, but for now, KNOW how it comes:

“According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; the coastlands He will fully repay. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:18-19 NKJV).

What is the meaning behind the “Holy Spirit of the LORD”?

God is a spirit. When the afternoon breeze began to stir in the Garden of Eden, God as a spirit came to Adam and Eve in the wind. Although it is not stated that this was a daily occurrence, most Bible scholars consulted seemed to feel this was the case.

“And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day” (Gen. 3:8 NKJV).

The cool of the day was around 4:00 p.m. It is the time when the evening breeze begins to stir. The Hebrew word translated cool in this verse is ruwach (roó-ach). Elsewhere in scripture, this same word is translated as breath, wind, breeze, spirit, and Holy Spirit.

In Gen. 3:10 after Adam and his wife had sinned, the Lord called to Adam and said, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself.” He heard the wind, breath, and breeze of the Spirit of the Lord and then heard his “still small voice”—the same as Elijah did in I Kings 19:12.

The Spirit of the LORD is the Holy Spirit.

What are the seven symbols in the Throne Room of God and what do they mean?

To get a more thorough understanding of the seven spirits of God we need to have a picture of who and what is in the throne room. Many sevens appear throughout Revelation, the number meaning completeness and perfection.

Referring to Revelation 4, this is after Jesus had already given the apostle John (the author) the seven messages to the seven churches, and then John saw a door standing open in heaven. The first voice he heard was like a trumpet saying, “Come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this.” This is what he saw:

1. A throne set in heaven and One sat on the throne like jasper and a sardius stone in appearance.

This One is identified as GOD (in verse 8) described in brilliance and glory. Jasper is probably a diamond suggesting purity and holiness and sardius is carnelian, deep red, picturing God’s avenging wrath.[i]

2. A rainbow around the throne appearing like an emerald.

Emerald is green, the dominant color in a rainbow, symbolizing mercy. It is God’s covenant with man and the earth to never send a flood to destroy them again.

3. Twenty-four thrones with twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.

These are the celestial representatives of all the redeemed, glorified and enthroned, who worship continuously. White robes symbolize purity. The crowns suggest victory and joy, not political authority.[ii]

These elders are also seen as representatives of the faithful overcomers of the body of Christ who are already glorified, enthroned and crowned with the overcomer’s crown.

4. From the throne pulsated lightning, thundering and voices.

Lightning and thunder describe the awesome and wondrous power of God. We can recognize His voice when we hear and see them. The ‘voices’ can also be seen as those languages poured out on the day of Pentecost along with tongues of fire that rested on the disciples in the upper room (Acts 2:4). Three thousand souls were saved that day as people heard the Gospel in their own language.

Revelation 18:1 to Revelation 19:10 records seven voices from the throne. Most are voices of praise such as, “Praise our God all you His servants, and those who fear Him, both small and great!”

Again, “a voice of a great multitude as sound of many waters and as the sound of many thunderings saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage supper of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

5. Seven lamps of fire burning before the throne.

Exodus 37:17-24 describes the making of the lampstand of one piece of gold with six branches, three on one side and three on the other. With its shaft, that made seven lamps. The middle shaft would be what holds them all together: the Spirit of the Lord––Holy Spirit. We know this today as the ‘menorah.’

Each lamp had its own wick through which oil flowed to keep the fire burning continuously. This is what Jesus meant when he told the parable of the ten virgins to make sure they had oil in their lamps before He came. Oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit and the supernatural power and ability to live the Christian life full of vitality especially in the midst of storms and perilous times.

The five foolish virgins (Matthew 25) took no oil to refill their lamps and missed out on the marriage supper of the Lamb. As we can see from this study of the seven spirits of God, it is the Holy Spirit of the Lord and the Word of God that refills our lamp–our daily life.

6. The seven lamps are the seven spirits of God before the throne.

1. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him [Jesus]

2. The Spirit of wisdom [ also known as 7 pillars of wisdom]

3. and understanding

4. The Spirit of counsel

5. and might

6. The Spirit of knowledge

7. and of the fear of the Lord.

7. Four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back, each with six wings full of eyes, surround the throne.

6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will, they exist and were created.”––Rev. 4:6-11

Full of Eyes in Front and in Back

Full of eyes symbolizes unceasing watchfulness 24/7. God is El Roi [The God Who Sees]. He knows your name. sees where you are and knows the thoughts and intents of your heart.

Six Wings

Six wings could mean they are searching the earth for those who are watchmen and women as they are––interceding in prayer and worship to Almighty God and who are filled with the seven-fold Spirit of God and living in supernatural abundance as overcomers––in spirit, soul, and body.

Likewise, they could also be searching for people who are hungry to be filled with the sevenfold Holy Spirit so they can alert Jesus to them. For it is Jesus who does the filling, as we will see.

It is their voices in this passage that is the first of twenty chorales that praise the holiness, omnipotence, and eternity of God. They are the highest-ranking celestial beings and interpret the meaning of many of the visions throughout Revelation.[iii]

These four types of cherubim suggest majestic courage––lion, strength––calf, intelligence––man and speed––eagle, in the service of the Creator. They resemble the beings Ezekiel and Isaiah saw.

Who is That One God on the Throne Again?

“And I (John) looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns [meaning complete and perfect power] and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth” (Revelation 5:6 NKJV).

The time had come to open the first of the seven seals that starts the tribulation in the next chapter. No one was found worthy to open the scroll and John began to cry. An elder said to John, “Do not weep, Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David (Jesse), has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

Then He (Jesus, the Lamb of God) took the scroll out of the right hand of Him (God the Father) who sat on the throne as the four living creatures and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each with a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals,
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood.
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God.
And we shall reign on the earth.”

The Holy Spirit of the Lord always lifts up the name of Jesus Christ. He never brings attention to Himself. Holy Spirit is the gift, and Jesus is the giver.

Notice how the Lamb Jesus sent out the seven spirits into all the earth. He is continually doing so and desires to send ALL of heaven to earth, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” as the Lord’s Prayer says. Have you received the seven spirits of God?

How can you be baptized with the seven spirits of God for a supernatural life?

John the Baptist told his disciples, “Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Matthew3:11). That happened on the day of Pentecost when heaven came down with EVERYTHING in the throne room “when suddenly there came a sound from heaven like the rushing [wind] of a violent tempest blast, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them. And they were all filled…” (Acts 2:2-3 Amplified).

Likewise, if you want to have power to live the Christian life successfully, you must believe the words of Jesus:

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NASB).

All you have to do is ASK Jesus. We have not because we ask not. Jesus will gladly anoint you with the oil from the seven lamps from the throne room and fill your heart and soul with that oil and fire! He cannot do that if you do not seek Him.
